The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians is expanding one of its casinos in Michigan.

The 27,000 square-foot Four Winds Dowagiac will grow by 2,700 square-feet to make way for more slot machines and table games. There will also be an exclusive entrance and parking spaces for certain members of the casino's loyalty program.

"The expansion of Four Winds Dowagiac not only demonstrates the success of our Four Winds Casinos, but also our continued economic development which is responsible for providing important services to Pokagon Citizens including housing, education, family services, medical care, and cultural preservation," Chairman John P. Warren said in a press release.

The tribe will break ground on the project this spring and complete it later this year. The cost of the project was not disclosed.

The tribe operates two other casinos in Michigan and hopes to open one in Indiana after going through the land-into-trust process.
