The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe distributed more than $2. 7 million in gaming revenues with local governments and schools in Michigan this week.
Isabella County received $2,045,422.88 in a ceremony on Wednesday. Another $691,379.60 was distributed in Arenac County and northern Bay County this afternoon.
"I feel like one big family," Chief Steve Pego said on Wednesday.
The tribe operates two casinos -- Soaring Eagle Casino &
Resort and the Saganing Eagles Landing
Casino. Twice a year, 2 percent of Class III gaming revenues are distributed
to the community.
Since 1994, the tribe has shared $229 million with Michigan, 9 and 10 News reported.
