The Seminole Tribe might continue to offer blackjack even after provisions of its Class III gaming compact expire, The News Service of Florida reports.
The tribe is supposed to halt blackjack games if a new deal isn't reached by July 31. The agreement includes a 90-day grace period that ends October 29.
But the tribe has apparently questioned whether it has to follow the provision.
The situation has never arisen before since the compact has only been effect for five years.
Lawmakers ended their recent session without addressing the compact or other gaming issues. They are going back for a special session on June 1 but the compact is not expected to be on the agenda, the News Service reported.
