The city of Taunton, Massachusetts, scheduled a June 9 election on the casino proposed by the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe.
The tribe is paying $40,000 to cover the cost of the election. The tribe is also providing $300,000 to the city so the two parties can negotiate a casino agreement.
