Fort Sill Apache Tribe hopes to stimulate economy with casino

The Fort Sill Apache Tribe of Oklahoma says its proposed casino can stimulate the economy in southern New Mexico.

The tribe could employ 80 people immediately at the Apache Homelands Casino, Chairman Jeff Haozous told The Deming Headlight. The workforce could grow to 300 if Class III gaming is allowed, he said.

Eventually, an expanded casino could employ up to 983 people and have an economic impact of $112 million by 2015, Haozous said.
