The Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma is still working on plans for a new casino in Tahlequah.
The tribe plans to build the new Cherokee Casino Tahlequah on a 17-acre site that was placed in trust last November. The facility will replace the old casino about a mile away.
"The Tahlequah project is pending finalization of the site plan," David Stewart, chief executive officer of Cherokee Nation Entertainment, said at a tribal council meeting, The Cherokee Phoenix reported.
