New York governor still developing policy on non-Indian gaming
Tuesday, September 27, 2011
New York Gov. Andrew M.
Cuomo (D) said he will announce his gaming policy in January 2012.
Cuomo has said everything is on the table. That includes an expansion of non-Indian gaming, which would require an amendment to the state constitution.
The Seneca Nation and the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe signed Class III compacts that provide for revenue sharing. But that will end if the exclusivity provisions are broken.
