Per capita payments for members of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in North Carolina dropped 21 percent from 2007 to 2010, The Asheville Citizen-Times reports.
The 2007 payment was $9,318, the paper said. Last year, it was $7,347. The tribe is hoping to boost revenues at Harrah's Cherokee Casino by adding live card dealers. Gov. Beverly Purdue (D) is negotiating but wants a cut of the take. Get the Story:
