The Flandreau Santee Sioux Tribe is defending its request for the testimony of former South Dakota Mike Rounds (R).
The tribe asked Rounds to reneogotiate its Class III gaming compact but he refused. The tribe now wants him to testify in a bad faith lawsuit in federal court because it says he is the only person who can provide key information in the case. The compact limits the tribe to 250 slot machines. Non-Indian casinos in the state operate nearly 8,300 slot machines. Rounds' term ended on January 8. Get the Story:
