Omaha Tribe hosts grand opening for casino closed in June 2009

The Omaha Tribe of Nebraska is back in the gaming business.

The tribe shut down Casino Omaha in June 2009 amid regulatory concerns and the recession. But after hiring a new gaming executive and making some minor changes, the facility reopened yesterday.

The casino features 420 electronic gaming machines. Table games will be started next year.

The casino is located on trust land in Iowa. It employs about 90 people.
