Shinnecock Nation looking at lots of locations for possible casino
Friday, October 22, 2010
The newly recognized Shinnecock Nation of New York has visited at least 30 sites in its quest for a casino.
Tribal leaders have said they want to build three casinos. But a spokesperson said no decisions have been made.
“We’re looking at many sites. Any site that’s available, we’ll probably go look at it,” spokesperson Beverly Jensen told The Long Island Business News. “It doesn’t mean anything, except we’re looking.”
The tribe's recognition became final this month.
