The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts is closing on a land deal on November 16, The Fall River Herald News reported.
The tribe must pay a non-refundable $225,000 deposit to the redevelopment authority in the city of Fall River. The remainder of the cash for the $4.5 million deal is due by the closing date. The 45-acre site is part of a larger 300-acre site that the tribe wants to use for a casino. The tribe will pay a refundable $200,000 deposit to secure an option for the remainder of the site. If all goes well, the tribe will buy the rest of the land for $16.5 million within 120 days. Get the Story:
