Mashantucket Tribe challenges NLRB jurisdiction on reservation
Tuesday, August 10, 2010
The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal
Nation of Connecticut filed an appeal over a union election at the Foxwoods Resort Casino.
The tribe says the National Labor Relations Board lacks jurisdiction at the casino. The tribe also says the United Food and Commercial
Workers coerced beverage employees into joining by making false claims about jobs going to tribal members.
Other unions have organized at the casino by following tribal law.
