The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut will fight the National Labor Relations Board over a union election at its casino.
The tribe disputes the NLRB's jurisdiction on the reservation. "The tribe continues to maintain that federal labor law does not apply," the tribe said in a statement, The New London Day reported. In 2004, the NLRB overturned decades of precedent and determined that the National Labor Relations Act applies to tribal enterprises.
