The potential economic loss to Sioux Falls because of area residents taking their entertainment dollars to the new casino very well could be greater that what Sioux Falls receives when Lyon County residents spend their money here. It's a numbers thing. There's just a larger pool of potential customers in Sioux Falls than Larchwood. Indeed, that's the whole reason Iowa is building one of its newest casinos near Sioux Falls. But the idea of competing with a casino by building another casino doesn't make sense - at least for now - since no one knows how the economic dominoes are going to fall once Grand Falls opens.
