The Little River Band of Ottawa Indians plans to spend $100 million to build an off-reservation casino in Michigan.
The casino will feature 1,700 slot machines, 30 table games and a hotel with up to 260 rooms. The project will create 1,100 direct and indirect jobs, according to the tribe. The tribe presented plans for the casino at a hearing last week. Another hearing is expected on June 9, The Muskegon Chronicle reported. The Saginaw Chippewa Tribe, the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of Potawatomi Indians and the Match-E-Be-Nash-She-Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians oppose the casino. Get the Story:
