Statement from RPNM Chairwoman Amy Barela on Ann Coulters<\/span> Deleted X Post<\/strong><\/h2>\n

NEW MEXICO – July 8, 2025 <\/strong><\/p>\n

As Chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico, I unequivocally condemn the recent statement made by Ann Coulter<\/span> on social media, in which she wrote,\u00a0“We didn’t kill enough Indians.”<\/em>\u00a0This statement is vile, reprehensible, and fundamentally opposed to the values of human dignity, respect, and decency.<\/p>\n

The Republican Party of New Mexico stands proudly alongside our Native American communities, who are an essential part of our state\u2019s cultural, historical, and spiritual fabric. New Mexico is home to 23 sovereign tribal nations, and any rhetoric that seeks to dehumanize or promote violence against Indigenous peoples is unacceptable and disgraceful.<\/p>\n

Words have power. Ms. Coulter<\/span>\u2019s language is not only morally repugnant but dangerously inflammatory. We condemn hate speech in all its forms, especially when it targets historically marginalized communities. The normalization of this kind of rhetoric has no place in our party, our discourse, or our society.<\/p>\n

We call on public figures\u2014regardless of political affiliation\u2014to rise above cruelty and division and instead promote respectful dialogue and understanding. The Republican Party of New Mexico remains committed to working with our tribal partners to build a future rooted in mutual respect and shared prosperity.<\/p>\n
