The virtual roundtable series aims to share the pitfalls and best practices for reporting these stories, within the context of a global pandemic.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This episode will focus on the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in the McGirt v. Oklahoma decision and feature discussions with Indigenous journalists and attorneys near this story, and the challenges they\u2019ve encountered reporting on this ruling and its implementation.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The roundtable panelists include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Jonodev Chaudhuri <\/strong>(Muscogee Creek), attorney at Quarles &amp; Brady, Ambassador for the Muscogee (Creek) Nation<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Matthew Fletcher<\/strong> (Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians), publisher of Turtle Talk legal blog, professor of law at Michigan State University<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" role=\"presentation\"><strong>Angel Ellis<\/strong> (Muscogee Creek), Reporter &#8211; Mvskoke Media<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Graham Lee Brewer<\/strong> (Cherokee), a freelance reporter who extensively covers Oklahoma and Indian Country, will moderate.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">NAJA will host the roundtable and live Q&amp;A at <strong>2 pm CT on Friday, Aug. 28<\/strong>, 2020 via Zoom.
