With almost all precincts reporting, Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R), a citizen of the Cherokee Nation, has won another term in office, representing Oklahoma’s 2nd Congressional District.
Mullin has secured nearly 85 percent of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Oklahoma Secretary of State from around 9pm Central on Tuesday evening.
Danyell Lanier, also Cherokee, has only received about 22 percent, according to the results. She was the Democratic nominee.
About 17 percent of the population in the district is Native.
