{"id":93,"date":"2020-03-15T22:29:46","date_gmt":"2020-03-15T22:29:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=93"},"modified":"2020-03-15T22:03:01","modified_gmt":"2020-03-16T02:03:01","slug":"bay-mills-indian-community-michigan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/2020\/03\/15\/bay-mills-indian-community-michigan\/","title":{"rendered":"Bay Mills Indian Community (Michigan)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>NEWS RELEASE:\u00a0BAY MILLS EMPLOYEES CLEARED OF <span class=\"il\">VIRUS<\/span> EXPOSURE<\/p>\n<p>BAY MILLS \u2014 On March 10, Bay Mills Indian Community became aware that two of our employees might have been exposed to novel <span class=\"il\">coronavirus<\/span> (COVID-19) while on out-of-state travel to the Washington, D.C. area.\u00a0 Those employees reported the exposure immediately and took appropriate steps to distance themselves from others in the community.<\/p>\n<p>Tribal administration immediately reached out to community members, making them aware of the situation and the actions being taken. As of this evening, Friday, March 13, BMIC is happy to report the results of the individual being tested has come back negative. Bay Mills staff has been cleared of exposure to the <span class=\"il\">virus<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>BMIC will continue to be proactive during this time and has taken measures to allow some staff to work from home, temporarily closed some tribal operations, and established a community network to help those who need it most during this crisis.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone who is sick is encouraged to stay home.
