{"id":9221,"date":"2020-10-30T08:49:35","date_gmt":"2020-10-30T12:49:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=9221"},"modified":"2020-10-30T08:51:51","modified_gmt":"2020-10-30T12:51:51","slug":"pueblo-of-laguna-new-mexico-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/2020\/10\/30\/pueblo-of-laguna-new-mexico-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Pueblo of Laguna (New Mexico)"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"embed-responsive  embed-responsive-16by9\"><div class=\"iframe-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"embed-responsive-item\"   title=\"Governor\u2019s Weekly COVID-19 Update 10\/26\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/iMe63GK7onc?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lagunapueblo-nsn.gov\/\">Pueblo of Laguna<\/a> is battling a rise in COVID-19 cases on the reservation in New Mexico, Governor Wilfred Herrera said in his weekly update.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/iMe63GK7onc\">video posted on October 27, 2020<\/a>, Herrera said the tribe has seen 61 positive cases within its boundaries, with 12 of them considered &#8220;active.&#8221; One person has been hospitalized.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>&#8220;In addition, the Pueblo has 38 households in quarantine with over 100 people affected, and 10 households in isolation with 22 people affected,&#8221; Herrera said.<\/p>\n<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\">\n<div class=\"layoutArea\">\n<div class=\"column\">\n<p>&#8220;The top three reasons for the households in quarantine and isolation are: Non- essential travel outside of the Pueblo and out-of-state, large gatherings (to include birthdays and funerals), and visiting other households,&#8221; the governor said. &#8220;As a reminder, you don\u2019t know what precautions people in other households are taking. The facility, located along a busy interstate west of Albuquerque, the most populous city in New Mexico, will remain closed for two weeks for a &#8220;deep cleaning&#8221; as employees undergo &#8220;proactive&#8221; testing for the coronavirus, Herrera said.<\/p>\n<p>Laguna is located within the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihs.gov\/albuquerque\/\">Albuquerque Area of the Indian Health Service<\/a>.
