Some 282 people have recovered, <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/DailyPSAUpdate8-2-20.pdf\">according to the tribe<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Amid the recoveries, 30 deaths have been attributed to the coronavirus as of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/POZCovid19\/photos\/pcb.146530487089566\/146530227089592\/?type=3&amp;theater\">August 6<\/a>. An <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/M70-2020-P058AmendedDeclaration.pdf\">amended declaration of emergency<\/a>\u00a0from that date asserts there is &#8220;no end in sight&#8221; to the pandemic.<\/p>\n<p>Prior to August 6, the tribe announced the 28th death on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/POZCovid19\/photos\/a.108868997522382\/142899130786035\/?type=3&amp;theater\">July 30<\/a>. The 27th death was confirmed on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/POZCovid19\/photos\/a.108868997522382\/141497974259484\/?type=3&amp;theater\">July 27<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur hearts go out to the family and everyone who is impacted by the tragic loss of a tribal member,\u201d Governor Val Panteah said of the passings.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout the month of August, the tribe has implemented a <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/57HourCurfew8-3-20.pdf\">series of 57-hour weekend curfews<\/a>. The \u00a0service unit also provides care to residents of the nearby\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ramahnavajocovid19\/?\">Ramah Navajo Chapter<\/a>, which his part of the Navajo Nation.<\/p>\n<p>Both Zuni and Ramah are near Gallup, a border town that has long been considered a coronavirus hotspot. According to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cvprovider.nmhealth.org\/public-dashboard.html\">New Mexico Department of Health<\/a>, McKinley County has seen 4,057 COVID-19 cases as of August 10.
