Frazier \u2013 Chairman, Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Ned Norris, Jr. \u2013 Chairman, Tohono O\u2019odham Nation<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Terry Rambler \u2013 Chairman, San Carlos Apache Tribe<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>MODERATOR:<br \/>\n<\/strong><strong>Fawn Sharp, President, National Congress of American Indians and&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>President,&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Quinault Indian Nation<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>WHAT:<\/strong><br \/>\nJoin the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) and tribal leaders for our upcoming&nbsp;Forum: Protecting Tribal Lands and Sacred Places: Current Threats across Indian Country.<\/p>\n<p>This Forum will share the stories of five tribal nations working to protect their tribal homelands in the face of baseless and arbitrary attacks by the federal government, and they will discuss how the federal government must recommit to its trust and treaty obligations to all tribal nations in this critical area.<\/p>\n<p>Each participant has a unique perspective and experience with tribal land issues and its effects to their rights as sovereign nations: <a href=\"https:\/\/mashpeewampanoagtribe-nsn.gov\/news\/2020\/3\/27\/message-from-the-chairman-we-will-take-action-to-prevent-the-loss-of-our-land\">Mashpee<\/a> experienced attempts from the Secretary of the Interior to disestablish their reservation and take their lands out of trust; the <a href=\"https:\/\/ourriverourhome.com\/press-releases\/mha-nation-responds-to-doi-opinion?fbclid=IwAR2dmi3Hfm1GkQPbo0NnHXTf2DK4VrandQkQVRZwDe2q0hjDtQYBCOQGu7o\">Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation<\/a>, also known as the Three Affiliated Tribes, are currently fighting the illegal confiscation of minerals beneath the Missouri River on the Fort Berthold Reservation; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncai.org\/news\/articles\/2020\/05\/13\/ncai-stands-with-the-cheyenne-river-sioux-tribe-and-other-south-dakota-tribal-nations-in-the-protection-of-citizens-from-covid-19-pandemic\">Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe<\/a> has faced several issues including a recent attempt by the governor of South Dakota to force the removal of COVID-19 checkpoints into their tribal nation without cause or jurisdiction; the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tonation-nsn.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/02\/Press-Release-Tohono-Oodham-Nation-Releases-Video-on-its-Opposition-to-Proposed-Border-Wall.pdf\">Tohono O\u2019odham<\/a> Nation has long opposed fortified walls on the border of their reservation, and despite a 2017 Executive Order, the Nation reiterates their stance on border walls; and the <a href=\"https:\/\/naturalresources.house.gov\/hearings\/the-irreparable-environmental-and-cultural-impacts-of-the-proposed-resolution-copper-mining-operation\">San Carlos Apache Tribe recently testified<\/a> in front of the House Committee on Natural Resources, Subcommittee for Indigenous Peoples of the United States to discuss the irreparable environmental and cultural impacts of the proposed copper mining operation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHERE:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>&nbsp;
