Of those, 5,467 have returned positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus. That represents a 4 percent increase from the <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=4740\">5,255 cases previously reported<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Overall, testing increased by nearly 2.3 percent between May 9 and May 10, the data shows. It grew by 1.4 percent between May 8 and May 9.<\/p>\n<p>The small increases are indicative of a lull that has been seen in the IHS data during weekends.<\/p>\n<p>In contrast, the coronavirus testing growth rate hovered around 6.4 percent over the weekdays leading up to May 8.<\/p>\n<h2>COVID-19 Cases by IHS Area<\/h2>\n<p>Data are reported from IHS, tribal, and urban Indian organization facilities, though reporting by tribal and urban programs is voluntary.
