Photo by Indianz.Com (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The Bureau of Indian Affairs has posted the transcripts from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bia.gov\/covid-19\/cares-act\">CARES Act tribal consultation<\/a> calls that took place on April 2 and April 9, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>The calls were led by <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ASIndianAffairs\">Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs Tara Sweeney<\/a> at the Department of the Interior and by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/about\/general-information\/officials\/daniel-kowalski\">Daniel Kowalski, who serves as Counselor to Secretary<\/a> of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianaffairs.gov\/profile\/das-ped-mark-cruz\">Mark Cruz<\/a>, who serves as the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Indian Affairs for Policy and Economic Development at Interior also participated, acting as a gatekeeper for the comments that were taken from tribal leaders.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=1789\">consultations were scheduled<\/a> to run from 1pm to 4pm Eastern on both days.
