{"id":293,"date":"2020-03-16T01:40:48","date_gmt":"2020-03-16T05:40:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=293"},"modified":"2020-03-16T01:47:05","modified_gmt":"2020-03-16T05:47:05","slug":"gathering-of-nations-new-mexico","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/2020\/03\/16\/gathering-of-nations-new-mexico\/","title":{"rendered":"Gathering of Nations (New Mexico)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-295 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/58460335_2198952260158243_3451144966959529984_n.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"960\" height=\"720\" srcset=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/58460335_2198952260158243_3451144966959529984_n.jpg 960w, https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/58460335_2198952260158243_3451144966959529984_n-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/58460335_2198952260158243_3451144966959529984_n-768x576.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>News Release: March 12, 2020<\/p>\n<p>As stated by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham on March 11, 2020, the state of New Mexico is experiencing a public health emergency.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As part of her announcement, Governor Lujan Grisham stated that her office is \u201cproactively and aggressively canceling large public events and venues that the state has control over\u201d and the Gathering of Nations, held on NM State property, is \u201chereby postponed\u201d for health and safety reasons.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>As a result of this announcement, and at the directive of the Governor\u2019s office, the Directors of the Gathering of Nations have made the difficult decision to cancel the event for 2020.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Due to the uncertainty of how the coronavirus will impact travel and event closures, it is nearly impossible to reinstate the enormous production of the Gathering of Nations Powwow, Stage 49, Traders&#8217;
