{"id":2105,"date":"2020-04-03T17:24:41","date_gmt":"2020-04-03T21:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=2105"},"modified":"2020-04-03T17:26:21","modified_gmt":"2020-04-03T21:26:21","slug":"indian-health-service-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/2020\/04\/03\/indian-health-service-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Indian Health Service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihs.gov\/\">Indian Health Service<\/a> has updated its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihs.gov\/coronavirus\/\">coronavirus testing data<\/a>, reflecting results as of 7pm on April 2, 2020.<\/p>\n<p>According to the data, 5,364 people within the IHS system have been tested for the coronavirus. Of those, 303 have tested positive for COVID-19, representing a <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=2020\">significant increase from the 268 cases<\/a> previously reported.<\/p>\n<p>Another 3,530 people have been tested, according to the IHS. Results from 1,531 tests are pending.<\/p>\n<p>With more testing taking place, and more results rolling in, some regions&nbsp; of the IHS are seeing spikes. One of the biggest occurred in the Albuquerque Area, where 19 COVID-19 positive cases have been reported, a huge jump from the 4 previously reported.<\/p>\n<p>The Bemidji Area reported its first slew of cases &#8212; there are 5 in the region, according to the results.<\/p>\n<p>The data, however, is incomplete. The Navajo Area has yet to be updated by the IHS, whose results are showing the same as those seen on April 1.<\/p>\n<p>Using more recent data, the <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/?p=2054\">Navajo Nation reported 241 COVID-19 cases<\/a> on April 2. Even more results are expected on the evening of April 3.<\/p>\n<p>The IHS data is also showing some discrepancies. The Billings Area now has 9 positives, which is lower than the 11 previously reported.
