152 new cases and two deaths related <\/strong>to COVID-19 reported over one week period<\/strong><\/h2>\n

WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 The Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 152 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and two recent deaths over a one-week period from Dec. 22 \u2013 28. The total number of deaths is now 1,991. 650,528 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 80,144, including 11 delayed reported cases.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to our health care professionals, cases of COVID-19, influenza and respiratory syncytial virus continue to be of great concern across the country. With the mask requirement in place here on the Navajo Nation, our health experts recognize that our protocols continue to lessen the spread of these viruses and to save lives. As we approach the New Year holiday, we continue to encourage all of our Navajo people to take precautions especially when traveling. We are in this together and we continue to pray for good health for all of our people,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n

Health care facilities on the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n
