133 new cases and no deaths related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n

WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 On Thursday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 133 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and no recent deaths. The total number of deaths is 1,929. 607,770 COVID-19 tests have been administered.<\/p>\n

The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 75,556, including 27 delayed reported cases. A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n

Starting this week, the Navajo Epidemiology Center will begin reporting weekly Navajo Nation COVID-19 cases every Thursday. <\/p>\n

\u201cTaking everyday prevention is key to avoiding any outbreaks of COVID-19 and Monkeypox. Continue to follow the three w\u2019s, wear a mask, wash your hands, and wash your distance from others to protect our public health. We thank our citizens for practicing the recommendations of our health care professionals for over two years. We must do our part daily to contribute to everyone\u2019s safety and health,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez. <\/p>\n

Health care facilities on the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n
