19 new cases and three deaths related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n

WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 On Tuesday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 19 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and three recent deaths. The total number of deaths is now 1,917. 601,540 COVID-19 tests have been administered.<\/p>\n

The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 74,528, including 32 delayed reported cases. A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThanks to our health care professionals, we know what protocols to follow to reduce our chances of getting COVID-19, but it\u2019s ultimately comes down to the choices we make as individuals. We all have to do our part to lessen the risks and the spread of this virus among our families and communities. We are in this together and we will continue to overcome this pandemic one day at a time through our prayers and actions,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n

Health care facilities on the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines and booster shots. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines or a booster shot, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n

\u201cBe safe and please take precautions especially in public places and when you travel off the Navajo Nation. We must continue to support one another and push forward together. Thank you to all of our frontline workers who continue to fight for all of us each and every day. Please continue to keep your loved ones safe and continue to pray,\u201d said Vice President Myron Lizer.<\/p>\n
