65 new cases and one death related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n

WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 On Thursday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 65 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and one death. The total number of deaths is now 1,887. 589,114 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 71,928, including one delayed reported case. A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are in this together so please continue to support one another and encourage each other to be very cautious in public places and to get vaccinated. The more awareness we bring to our family members and households, the less chances of getting COVID-19. Our frontline warriors continue to fight for us so let\u2019s fight for them by keeping ourselves safe and healthy,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez. <\/p>\n

Health care facilities on the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you feel any illness associated with COVID-19, please isolate yourself from others and get tested as soon as possible. Do not go into public places if you are sick. We all have to do our part to lessen the spread of COVID-19 in our homes and communities. We are in this fight against COVID-19 together. Please keep praying for our frontline workers and everyone who is fighting COVID-19 at this moment,\u201d said Vice President Myron Lizer. <\/p>\n
