Photo: Navajo Nation Office of President and Vice President<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The&nbsp;Navajo Nation&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Office of the President and Vice President<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">August 30, 2022<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>70 new cases and no deaths related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013&nbsp;On Tuesday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 70 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and no deaths. The total number of deaths is 1,884. 587,580 COVID-19 tests have been administered.<\/p>\n<p>The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 71,746, including 27 delayed reported cases.&nbsp;A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur health care professionals strongly encourage everyone to be very cautious with the spread of COVID-19 and now the spread of Monkeypox. Continue to follow the three w\u2019s, wear a fitted mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance from others. Also, stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines, improve your home air flow, get tested if needed, stay home if you are sick, and seek treatment if your symptoms worsen. Taking preventive actions can protect yourself and others,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n<p>Health care facilities on the Navajo&nbsp;Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your&nbsp;health care provider and&nbsp;schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cContinue offer prayers for our frontline workers and those who are struggling with COVID-19 and other illnesses.
