207 new cases and no deaths related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n

WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 On Friday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 207 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and no deaths. The total number of deaths remains 1,879. 584,634 COVID-19 tests have been administered.<\/p>\n

The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 71,628, including 105 delayed reported cases. A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur public health experts are calling on everyone to be very cautious in public places due to COVID-19 and with the first confirmed case of Monkeypox on the Navajo Nation. Thanks to the guidance provided by our public health experts, we know how to push back on these viruses and we have vaccines available for both viruses. Please do your part to continue informing your elders and children and encourage them to take precautions. Please be safe and keep pushing back on COVID-19 and Monkeypox together,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n

Health care facilities on the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n
