93 new cases and one death related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n

WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 On Friday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 93 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and one death. The total number of deaths is now 1,872. 575,648 COVID-19 tests have been administered.<\/p>\n

The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 62,912, including two delayed reported cases. A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n

The Navajo Nation remains in \u201cyellow status,\u201d in accordance with Public Health Emergency Order No. 2022-004 available online at: https:\/\/www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov\/COVID-19<\/a>. <\/p>\n

\u201cOur health care professionals strongly encourage everyone to be very cautious with the spread of COVID-19 and now the spread of Monkeypox. Continue to follow the three w\u2019s, wear a fitted mask, wash your hands, and watch your distance from others. Be aware of who you spend the weekend with and how you are taking steps to prevent infection. Have a great and safe weekend,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n

Health care facilities on the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n
