Photo: Navajo Nation Office of President and Vice President<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The&nbsp;Navajo Nation&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Office of the President and Vice President<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">August 9, 2022<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>206 new cases and one death related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 On Tuesday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 206 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and one death. The total number of deaths is now 1,867. 573,646 COVID-19 tests have been administered.<\/p>\n<p>The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 62,320, including 34 delayed reported cases. A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n<p>The Navajo Nation remains in \u201cyellow status,\u201d in accordance with Public Health Emergency Order No. 2022-004 available online at:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov\/COVID-19\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov\/COVID-19&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1660233914930000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0hDFp8vHfxArzgICon3stg\">https:\/\/www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov\/COVID-19<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur health care professionals strongly encourage everyone to be very cautious with the spread of COVID-19 and now the spread of Monkeypox. Last week, the White House declared a public health emergency due to the growing number of Monkeypox cases in the United States. As of today, we do not have any confirmed cases of Monkeypox here on the Navajo Nation, but we strongly advise everyone to stay informed and to help inform your loved ones of new developments.
