Photo: Navajo Nation Office of President and Vice President<\/p><\/div>\n<p>The&nbsp;Navajo Nation&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Office of the President and Vice President<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong><br \/>\nAugust 3, 2022<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>34 new cases and two recent deaths related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>WINDOW ROCK, Arizona <\/strong>\u2013 On Wednesday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 34 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and two recent deaths. The total number of deaths is 1,863, including one delayed death reported. 569,074 COVID-19 tests have been administered.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 61,031, including 66 delayed reported cases. A new case is defined as a positive test within the last 72-hours. Some cases are due to delayed reporting from the states. Any positive tests from beyond the last 72-hours are considered delayed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Navajo Nation remains in \u201cyellow status,\u201d in accordance with Public Health Emergency Order No. 2022-004 available online at:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov\/COVID-19\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov\/COVID-19&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1659652704291000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0ViLN2WLxyXFx_5EDXByKD\">https:\/\/www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov\/COVID-19<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cOur Navajo Nation health care professionals continue to recommend all individuals to wear a well-fitting mask indoors and at any large gatherings. We also encourage everyone to stay up-to-date on all COVID-19 vaccines and boosters. If you are feeling sick, make sure you are following all isolation and quarantine guidelines.&nbsp;We are in this together and we all have to do our part to push back on this virus,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Health care facilities on the Navajo&nbsp;Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
