Tribe Reports 11 New COVID-19 Cases: 6 Total Active<\/strong><\/h2>\n

AKWESASNE<\/strong> \u2014 The Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe\u2019s COVID-19 Response Team reported 11 new positive cases of COVID-19<\/a> in the southern portion of Akwesasne from April 4, 2022 to April 7, 2022. Five (5) cases completed their five-day isolation period however, there remain six (6) active cases under the Tribe\u2019s jurisdiction. The active cases include one (1) child under the age of twelve. Please wish them all the very best for a safe and complication-free recovery.<\/p>\n

Saint Regis Mohawk Health Services announced that beginning April 4, 2022, COVID-19 PCR testing is only be available on Mondays from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at their testing garage located at 404 State Route 37. Please use the gravel road across from McGee Road and follow the signs to the testing garage.<\/p>\n

Health Services and Indian Health Services announced that a second COVID-19 Vaccine Booster is now available during the Wednesday Walk-in Vaccine Clinic or by appointment by calling (518) 358-3142. The second booster is currently available for individuals who are 50-years old or more and those ages 12 years or older with an immunocompromised medical condition.<\/p>\n

As a friendly reminder, please continue to respect an individual\u2019s choice to wear a mask. Some locations continue to require masks due to federal or tribal regulations. Individuals may also choose to wear a mask due to an underlying medical condition or vaccination status.<\/p>\n

Throughout the week, Akwesasne residents and employees can also schedule a FREE<\/u><\/strong> PCR or Rapid Molecular test by contacting Mountain Medical at the following locations on Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the weekends from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:<\/p>\n

COVID-19 HOME TEST KITS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

On Tuesdays, COVID-19 Home Test Kits are being distributed at no cost from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (or while supplies last) at the clinic\u2019s testing garage. Community members will receive either the BinaxNow COVID-19 Antigen Self Kit or the QuickVue At-Home OTC COVID-19 Test.<\/p>\n

Individuals who test positive are asked to self-report positive results to St. Lawrence County Public Health at (315) 386-2325, SRMT Contact Tracers at (518) 333-0230, or Franklin County Public Health at https:\/\/bit.ly\/3njGiRa<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Positive cases should provide notification to individuals who may have been potentially exposed.<\/p>\n

COVID-19 VACCINATION CLINICS:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Wednesday vaccination clinic is being held at the tribal clinic\u2019s main campus located at 404 State Route 37. The weekly vaccine clinic is open to all individuals over the age of 5-years old from 9:00 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. No appointment is needed.<\/p>\n
