The total number of deaths is now 1,649. The report indicates that 50,546 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. 495,732 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 52,441, including two delayed reported cases.<\/p>\n<p>Navajo&nbsp;Nation COVID-19 positive cases by Service Unit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chinle Service Unit: 10,008<\/li>\n<li>Crownpoint Service Unit: 5,109<\/li>\n<li>Ft. Defiance Service Unit: 5,350<\/li>\n<li>Gallup Service Unit: 8,781<\/li>\n<li>Kayenta Service Unit: 4,962<\/li>\n<li>Shiprock Service Unit: 9,718<\/li>\n<li>Tuba City Service Unit: 5,688<\/li>\n<li>Winslow Service Unit: 2,803<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* 22 residences with COVID-19 positive cases are not specific enough to place them accurately in a Service Unit.<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, the state of New Mexico reported 692 new cases and Utah reported 278 new cases. The state of Arizona now reports COVID-19 cases on a weekly basis, each Wednesday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKeep wearing masks in public. Areas off of the Navajo Nation continue to lift COVID-19 protocols, but here on the Navajo Nation we continue to push back on the virus. COVID-19 vaccines are available at all of the health care facilities on the Navajo Nation. If you haven\u2019t been vaccinated, we strongly encourage you to do so. The recent surge demonstrated the effectiveness of the vaccines in preventing severe illness and hospitalizations among most people who were infected. We have to remain diligent and keep taking precautions to prevent another surge in our communities,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n<p>Health care facilities on the Navajo&nbsp;Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
