The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihs.gov\/navajo\">Navajo Area<\/a>, where the pandemic has exacted a disproportionate toll since the spring of 2020, comes in second (408,780 distributed, 369,719 administered) while the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihs.gov\/california\">California Area<\/a> comes in third (330,130 distributed, 212,347 administered).<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihs.gov\/phoenix\/\">Phoenix Area<\/a> also accounts for a large number (296,705 distributed, 232,706 administered). The Phoenix Area has been disproportionately affected by COVID-19 as well.<\/p>\n<p>In all four areas, the number of vaccines distributed increased from <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/2022\/02\/10\/indian-health-service-department-of-health-and-human-services-504\/\">a week ago<\/a>, as did the number of vaccines administered.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Christina Morin, community health nurse and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/COVID19?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#COVID19<\/a> vaccine point of contact and coordinator at the Quentin N. Read more: <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/u1Ake2Mp6h\">https:\/\/t.co\/u1Ake2Mp6h<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/ovFS4AuU7x\">pic.twitter.com\/ovFS4AuU7x<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; IndianHealthService (@IHSgov) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/IHSgov\/status\/1493288461834539019?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">February 14, 2022<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>According to the IHS, vaccination distribution and administration will be updated weekly across the 11 areas that are receiving doses directly from the agency.<\/p>\n<p>Tribal health facilities in Alaska have chosen to receive their COVID-19 vaccine supplies from the state, so their&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ihs.gov\/alaska\/\">region<\/a>&nbsp;is not included in the data.<\/p>\n<h2>COVID-19 Vaccine Distribution and Administration by IHS Area<\/h2>\n<p>As of February 14, 2022, the IHS is distributing all three COVID-19 vaccines currently authorized or approved in the U.S, including Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, and Janssen\/Johnson &amp; Johnson. The table below shows the total number of vaccine doses distributed and administered to date, per IHS Area, for facilities that chose to receive vaccine through the IHS jurisdiction. The data includes COVID-19 vaccinations administered to all ages and specialty groups authorized for emergency use or fully licensed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The IHS administration rate is 77%.
