The total number of deaths is now 1,639. The report indicates that 49,686 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. 488,977 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 52,008, including two delayed reported cases.<\/p>\n<p>Navajo&nbsp;Nation COVID-19 positive cases by Service Unit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chinle Service Unit: 9,895<\/li>\n<li>Crownpoint Service Unit: 5,044<\/li>\n<li>Ft. Defiance Service Unit: 5,324<\/li>\n<li>Gallup Service Unit: 8,718<\/li>\n<li>Kayenta Service Unit: 4,897<\/li>\n<li>Shiprock Service Unit: 9,632<\/li>\n<li>Tuba City Service Unit: 5,676<\/li>\n<li>Winslow Service Unit: 2,800<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* 22 residences with COVID-19 positive cases are not specific enough to place them accurately in a Service Unit.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the state of Arizona reported 2,781 new cases, the state of Utah reported 1,032 new cases, and New Mexico reported 999 cases.&nbsp;The Navajo Nation\u2019s face mask mandate remains in effect in all public places within the Navajo Nation, in accordance with Public Health Emergency Order No. 2020-007.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe State of New Mexico lifted its indoor mask requirement, but this does not apply to the Navajo Nation. Keep wearing your masks in public and&nbsp;get&nbsp;fully vaccinated for COVID-19. Our frontline warriors are fighting this invisible monster every day in our health care facilities. We must do everything we can to fight for them by taking precautions that reduce the spread of COVID-19. Please take extra precautions in public and keep pushing back together on this virus,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n<p>Health care facilities on the Navajo&nbsp;Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
