The total number of deaths is now 1,626. The report indicates that 48,562 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. 484,234 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 51,387, including 15 delayed reported cases.<\/p>\n<p>Navajo&nbsp;Nation COVID-19 positive cases by Service Unit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chinle Service Unit: 9,724<\/li>\n<li>Crownpoint Service Unit: 4,976<\/li>\n<li>Ft. Defiance Service Unit: 5,299<\/li>\n<li>Gallup Service Unit: 8,644<\/li>\n<li>Kayenta Service Unit: 4,821<\/li>\n<li>Shiprock Service Unit: 9,461<\/li>\n<li>Tuba City Service Unit: 5,645<\/li>\n<li>Winslow Service Unit: 2,795<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* 22 residences with COVID-19 positive cases are not specific enough to place them accurately in a Service Unit.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, the state of Arizona reported 5,402 new cases, the state of Utah reported 2,062 new cases, and New Mexico reported 1,844.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough surveillance of COVID-19 test samples, the Navajo Department of Health reported that 921 Omicron cases are now confirmed on the Navajo Nation. On the upside, our high rate of COVID-19 vaccinations has helped our health care system to maintain services and the vaccines continue to save many lives. We cannot thank our frontline warriors enough for all they sacrifice and the lives they save. We can all do our part to help them and support them by getting the vaccine and booster shot, wearing two masks in public, and practicing the precautions that our public health experts put forth to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our homes, work places, and communities,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n<p>Health care facilities on the Navajo&nbsp;Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
