Havasupai Tribal Council Extends <\/strong>Tourism Suspension Until June 1, 2022<\/strong><\/h2>\n

(HAVASUPAI RESERVATION, Arizona January 5, 2022) — The Havasupai Tribal Council has passed Resolution No. 97-21 extending the suspension of tourism until June 1, 2022.<\/p>\n

The Tribe has been actively involved in vaccination efforts in order to protect the community and tribal members in Supai Village. The Havasupai Reservation has been on lockdown and will remain on lockdown for the foreseeable future.  This is done out of an abundance of caution for the protection and survival of tribal members.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Tribal Council has continued to consult with health experts and has ultimately decided that we will continue the suspension of tourism until June 1, 2022,\u201d said Chairman Thomas Siyuja, Sr. \u201cThere are still so many unknowns with the new COVID-19 variants that for the health and safety of our tribal community, it is in the best interest to remain closed to tourists.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tourists with reservations during the suspension which have not already been rebooked are being rescheduled for the same date in 2023.  No further reservations will be taken for the 2022 tourist season. <\/p>\n
