Source: Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe Emergency Operations Center<\/p><\/div>\n<p><strong>COMMUNITY NOTICE<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><u>For immediate release<\/u>:&nbsp;<br \/>\n<em>Tsioth\u00f3hrha<\/em>\/December 13, 2021<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Tribal EOC Health Advisory for Holiday Season<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><strong>AKWESASNE<\/strong> &#8212; The holiday season is an important time for families, children, and others to gather and celebrate. In response to rising case numbers however, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.srmt-nsn.gov\/news\/2021\/tribal-eoc-health-advisory-for-holiday-season#!\">Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe\u2019s Emergency Operations Center urges caution<\/a> and is providing the following health advisory to encourage families to be safe for the holidays.<\/p>\n<p><strong>GENERAL ADVISORY:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>STAY IN YOUR BUBBLE<\/strong>: Limit gatherings to individuals in your immediate bubble.<\/li>\n<li><strong>WEAR A MASK<\/strong>: Wear a properly fitted mask that covers your nose and mouth in all public indoor spaces to help protect yourself and others.<\/li>\n<li><strong>SOCIAL DISTANCE<\/strong>:&nbsp;Stay 6 feet from others who don\u2019t live with you.<\/li>\n<li><strong>GATHERING SPACES<\/strong>: Avoid crowds and poorly ventilated indoor spaces.<\/li>\n<li><strong>WASH HANDS<\/strong>: Wash your hands often with soap and warm water and\/or use hand sanitizer if soap and water not available.<\/li>\n<li><strong>STAY HOME WHEN SICK<\/strong>: Avoid visiting others and traveling if you are not feeling well.<\/li>\n<li><strong>GET TESTED<\/strong>: &nbsp;Get tested if you are symptomatic (showing symptoms)<\/li>\n<li><strong>IF YOU ARE EXPOSED<\/strong>: Quarantine and get tested at least 7 days following a suspected exposure.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are considering traveling for a holiday or event, visit CDC\u2019s Travel&nbsp;page to help you decide what is best for you and your family. CDC still recommends delaying travel until you&nbsp;are fully-vaccinated and everyone, even fully vaccinated individuals, are required to wear a mask&nbsp;on all means of public transportation.<\/p>\n<p>The EOC advises that the best way to protect yourself, your family, and those you love is to get vaccinated with either the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine; and for those 18 and older to also obtain your booster dose if you are six months from your first two doses.<\/p>\n<p>The vaccines have been proven safe and effective at preventing severe symptoms, which could result in hospitalization or death.
