The total number of deaths is now 1,547, including four delayed reported deaths. The report indicates that 37,529 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. 397,286 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 39,768, including 65 delayed reported cases.<\/p>\n<p>Navajo&nbsp;Nation COVID-19 positive cases by Service Unit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Chinle Service Unit: 6,944<\/li>\n<li>Crownpoint Service Unit: 3,785<\/li>\n<li>Ft. Defiance Service Unit: 4,657<\/li>\n<li>Gallup Service Unit: 6,544<\/li>\n<li>Kayenta Service Unit: 3,411<\/li>\n<li>Shiprock Service Unit: 7,146<\/li>\n<li>Tuba City Service Unit: 4,906<\/li>\n<li>Winslow Service Unit: 2,353<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>* 22 residences with COVID-19 positive cases are not specific enough to place them accurately in a Service Unit.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, the state of Arizona reported 4,012 new cases,&nbsp;Utah reported 1,981 cases, and New Mexico reported 2,054 new cases.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Omicron variant was detected in the state of California on Wednesday, marking the first confirmed case of the variant in the United States. Health officials are studying the new variant to determine if the COVID-19 vaccines will be effective against it. While there is still much to be learned about the variant, we must continue to be diligent and take precautions to reduce the spread of the virus. The best course of action is to get fully vaccinated, get your booster shot if you are fully vaccinated, and limit travel. The safest place to be is at home here on the Navajo Nation. Please be safe and keep praying for our people and our frontline warriors,&#8221; said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n<p>Health care facilities across the Navajo&nbsp;Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines.
