Our contact tracers are doing their best to mitigate and isolate those cases to prevent any further spread, but it ultimately comes down to personal responsibility. Each of us has a personal responsibility to wear a mask in public and to take precautions to protect ourselves and others. For over a year, our health experts have given us the guidance and the knowledge that we need to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and we have to do our best every day to adhere to their advice. The best option to protect yourselves is to get fully vaccinated if you haven’t already done so. We are in this together, so let’s keep pushing back on the virus,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.

Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines during drive-thru events or by appointment. If you would like to receive the vaccine, please contact your health care provider for more information for your Service Unit.

“Keep taking precautions and keep showing your support for one another. We have families who are grieving the loss of loved ones, so please keep them in your prayers. Our health care workers continue to work around the clock to help COVID-19 patients and to save lives, so please help them by continuing to take precautions. Please be safe and keep praying for all of our people,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.

For more information, including helpful prevention tips, and resources to help stop the spread of COVID-19, visit the Navajo Department of Health’s COVID-19 website: http://www.ndoh.navajo-nsn.gov/COVID-19.
