Davis and Sub-Chief Joe Kequom of the&nbsp;Saginaw Chippewa Tribe provided an update on COVID-19 prevention efforts. The tribe is closing all non-essential services from March 23 through April 3 in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus in Michigan. Essential services, such as law enforcement, are not impacted.<\/strong><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Hello from all of us on the Tribal Council.&nbsp; We hope this video finds you all well and healthy.&nbsp; On March 17, 2020 we made the tough decision to close Soaring Eagle Casino &amp; Resort, Saganing Eagles Landing Casino &amp; Hotel, the Slot Palace &amp; Bingo Hall and the Soaring Eagle Waterpark &amp; Hotel.&nbsp; Also on March 17, 2020 we decided to provide \u201cAdministrative Leave\u201d to government employees to eliminate the exposure and interaction of both associates and our guests during this Coronavirus Pandemic.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Today we have decided that in the best interest of everyone\u2019s safety and well-being to temporarily close Tribal Operations (with exception to 24\/7 and essential service personnel) until further notice, however, we anticipate an expected return to work date being April 14, 2020, since April 13th is a Tribal holiday.&nbsp; We will continue to provide those essential services throughout this period.&nbsp; Please be sure to call before venturing out to ensure the staff will be ready to service your needs.&nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Remember to remain in your homes as much as possible, cover your mouth when you cough, do not touch your face and wash your hands often.&nbsp; Take care of yourselves and each other.&nbsp; Together we will get through this challenge.&nbsp; Miigwetch&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<div class=\"embed-responsive  embed-responsive-16by9\"><div class=\"iframe-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"embed-responsive-item\"   title=\"COVID - 19 Update : March 24, 2020\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/E1FAW98vbuY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div><\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In a video message on March 24, 2020, Chief Tim J.
