FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE<\/strong> 3 new cases, 29,615 recoveries, and no recent deaths related to COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>\n WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. <\/strong>\u2013 On Monday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported three new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and no recent deaths. The total number of deaths remains 1,352 as previously reported. The report indicates that 29,615 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. 281,042 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 30,994. <\/p>\n Navajo Nation COVID-19 positive cases by Service Unit:<\/p>\n * 19 residences with COVID-19 positive cases are not specific enough to place them accurately in a Service Unit.<\/p>\n On Monday, the state of Arizona reported 413 new cases, Utah reported 254, and New Mexico reported 148 cases, which includes the weekend and Monday.<\/p>\n \u201cAs we approach the Fourth of July holiday, we are urging our Navajo Nation residents to celebrate safely and closer to home with friends and family. Yes, we are making good progress and our numbers of new infections have remained low, but we must remain diligent because the Delta variant continues to spread in other regions and states across the country. Based on the data and the trends, it is much safer to remain here on the Navajo Nation at this time until we see a decline in new infections outside of our Nation. We are in this fight against COVID-19 together, so please remain cautious and keep praying for our people,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines during drive-thru events or by appointment. If you would like to receive the vaccine, please contact your health care provider for more information for your Service Unit. <\/p>\n \u201cCOVID-19 continues to create more challenges especially with the Delta variant, but we have to remain strong and continue to overcome the challenges. We can push back on the Delta variant by getting vaccinated and continuing to wear a mask in public. Please remain diligent and keep taking precautions to stay safe.
