7 new cases and one more death related to COVID-19 reported<\/strong><\/p>\n

WINDOW ROCK, Ariz. <\/strong>\u2013 On Saturday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported seven new COVID-19 positive cases for the Navajo Nation and one more death. The total number of deaths is now 1,332, including two delayed reported deaths. The full report will be available on Monday.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, the state of Arizona reported 277 new cases, Utah reported 306, and New Mexico will report its weekend cases on Monday. <\/p>\n

\u201cWorking together, we have to keep pushing back on COVID-19 and encouraging our loved ones to get vaccinated to protect us all. In order to reach our goal of herd immunity, we need more of our people, including adolescents, to receive the vaccine. After receiving the vaccine, we all have to continue to take precautions to remain safe and healthy including wearing our masks in public. We are in this fight against COVID-19 together and we are overcoming it day by day,\u201d said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.<\/p>\n

Health care facilities across the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines during drive-thru events or by appointment. If you would like to receive the vaccine, please contact your health care provider for more information for your Service Unit. <\/p>\n

\u201cOnce again, thank you to all of our health care workers who continue to work through the weekends to vaccinate more of our Navajo Nation residents. For every vaccine event held on weekends, it takes time away from their loved ones. Our frontline warriors continue to make great sacrifices for us all.
