Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation<\/em><\/a>, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/News\/2021\/04\/19\/indian-country-nearly-locked-out-of-u-s-supreme-court-hearing\/\">dispute over COVID-19 funding in Indian Country.<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Oral arguments took place via teleconference&nbsp;on April 19, 2021. At issue is whether <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Alaska_Native_corporation\">Alaska Native corporations<\/a> (ANCs) are entitled to funds from the <a href=\"https:\/\/home.treasury.gov\/policy-issues\/cares\">Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act<\/a>, also known as the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.indianz.com\/Video\/2020\/03\/30\/cares-act-coronavirus-relief-f.asp\">CARES Act<\/a>, in the same manner as sovereign Indian nations.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/indianz.com\/covid19\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/04\/20\/20-543_6kg7.pdf\">transcript consists of 107 pages<\/a> from the argument, followed by an index of commonly used words.<\/p>\n<p>The case has been consolidated with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/sct.narf.org\/caseindexes\/alaska_native_corp_v_chehalis.html\">Alaska Native Village Corporation Association v. Confederated Tribes of the Chehalis Reservation<\/a><\/em>, No. 20-544.
