22 new cases, 51,358 recoveries, and no recent deaths related to COVID-19 

WINDOW ROCK, Arizona – On Wednesday, the Navajo Department of Health, in coordination with the Navajo Epidemiology Center and the Navajo Area Indian Health Service, reported 22 new COVID-19 cases for the Navajo Nation and no recent deaths. The total number of deaths is 1,740 The report indicates that 51,358 individuals have recovered from COVID-19. 512,503 COVID-19 tests have been administered. The overall total number of positive COVID-19 cases is now 53,179, including seven delayed reported cases.

Navajo Nation COVID-19 positive cases by Service Unit:

* 22 residences with COVID-19 positive cases are not specific enough to place them accurately in a Service Unit.

“The mask mandate remains in effect for the entire Navajo Nation, including all businesses and schools. We continue to encourage all eligible individuals to get vaccinated and boosted. As we approach the Easter holiday weekend, please continue to adhere to our medical and health professionals’ advice and recommendations by mask-wearing, social distancing, and testing yourself before attending large family gatherings. Keep your guard up and keep each other safe,” said Navajo Nation President Jonathan Nez.

Health care facilities on the Navajo Nation continue to administer COVID-19 vaccines. If you would like to receive one of the COVID-19 vaccines, please contact your health care provider and schedule an appointment.

“Keep taking safety measures wherever you go. Our health care workers have never stopped fighting for us, so let’s keep fighting for them by keeping ourselves safe and healthy throughout the weekend. Please pray and be safe,” said Vice President Myron Lizer.
